Happy New Year!
Can you believe it's 2015?

I love the beginning of a new year.
The promise of a blank slate, the chance to start new,
to cast off the old and begin new habits.
I personally can't think of anything better that starting
the year immersing myself in God's word!

For the last few months of 2014 I'd been writing scripture each day and it has been such a blessing to me! I posted a plan for November and a new one for December here and on FB and have heard from so many of you that you loved them too.  In the last few days I've received tons of messages and emails asking if I plan to post one for January so here it is!

Reading scripture daily is great, but there's something
about writing it each day that truly brings it to life for me.
Praying it is a blessing to you as well!

For those that have asked, The Bible I use is this one and I LOVE it so-
it has NIV on one side of the page and The Message on the other side!

  5. January 1: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past." I need to continually remind myself of this verse.

  7. I have wanted to find something for awhile now that would motivate me to stay in the word, daily. I bought a new journal and matching pen for $2.50 at Michaels and have been writing each day! Thank you so much for sharing this:). I too am wondering, if you'd consider doing it for the rest of the year (monthly)?

  8. I just wanted to say I LOVE THIS! I completed January and was so looking forward to continuing this new practice of writing out scripture that I made up some of my own - BUT - then my friend passed on the February listing. FABULOUS! I hang it in my kitchen as a reminder to start my day right. It has been SUCH A BLESSING to me - given me new found incentive to pick up my Bible each and every day. I cannot THANK YOU enough! AWESOME!

  9. This is so great! Will you be doing the rest of the year? I'm making my own template for a scripture writing journal and would love to add the rest of the year to my journal before i go to print with it.

  10. Thank you so much for this! Scripture memorization is the one thing I want to implement more in our homeschooling. I have shared on my author page on Facebook. I think it will help encourage many! www.facebook.com/heartskeeper

  11. Back in the 70s some of us put the hymnal away (so many were sung by rote or no emotion) and started singing scriptores. That was the easiest ways for total recall

  12. A high school girlfriend of mine who lives several states away (but we keep in touch through FaceBook) found the Christmas scripture writing plan and asked me if I'd like to join her doing it. We liked it so much that we decided to form a FaceBook Group and invite others to join. We had about 30 people who joined us in December, and we have carried it through into January. Every day I create a graphic with one of the scriptures from the daily writing plan, share it on my FaceBook timeline, and in our scripture writing group. Many people then share that graphic and any comments I include with it. This is growing like a wildfire!!!!!! THANK YOU, SHANNON, for creating these!!! I eagerly anticipate subsequent plans and can't wait to see how God blesses this awesome outreach!!! ~ Mel ~ (the group is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/798001910346230/)

  13. I love these!! I started in November when most people where filling Facebook with things they were thankful for, I began journaling and writing scripture! I have to say though, January 26th has me stumped. I don't have a Romans 18. So not to be deterred, I did my own for that day. I hope that you are able to update for a new year as I would love to have this become a daily thing that I continue for many years to come. God Bless you!

    1. Hi Becki! You are looking at an old copy- with an error. If you'll click up at the top and look at the version I posted at the end of this past December, you'll see the corrected copy. It's Romans 8. Thank you!
