Monday Morning Question of the Day

We have four 5 TV's in our house and 2 DVR's.
Our TV is on from the moment we get home till the moment we go to sleep-
and sometimes even after we go to sleep.

And honestly I hate that.
I think of all that we could/should/would be doing
if we didn't have our TV's on all the time.
On all the things we are missing out on because of TV.
And it makes me sad.
Very sad.

What about you?

How many TV's do you have and how often are they on?
Is it too much, just right, or not enough?

  1. We have 4 tvs. Sometimes I think they are on too much but then there are nights that all of a sudden its 7 o'clock and no tv has been turned on and I think thats great!

  2. Oh you know what - we actually have 6 tvs, but two of them - in the girls' rooms are not hooked up to cable they are for movies only.

  3. We have 4 tv's. Only one of them is on at any given time, since we seem to be in the same room at the same time and it is usually for the news and business updates.

  4. We have 6 tv's, they are on fairly often, but I look for every chance I can get to ground my kids from TV so they'll go outside, so there may be days that it's only on for music... Now once the kids go to bed, it is tv, tv, tv for us grown ups!

  5. I have one TV. I almost never turn it on, except for Monday nights when The Big Bang Theory is on. It has been on more often lately since I'm watching the World Cup, but I turn it off right after the match is over. I like peace and quiet.

  6. We have 2 tv's. I have to admit to being the one who turns it on the most. Just for noise if nothing else. And much too often I stop to watch what's on it.

  7. My name is Stacy and I am a TV-aholic! There I said it...whew! We have 4 tv's and they are probably on more than I care to admit. I have really been toning it down though as I too have realized I watch way more than I want to. I have cut out a lot of the programs I watch, but there are certain ones I just have to watch and sadly reality TV is one weakness. Biggest Loser, Big Brother, Survivor, etc.

  8. We have 5 TVs. TV isn't the problem at our house though - the internet consumes most of my family's time. :( Each family member has either a PC/laptop/iPad. It irks me to no end, yet here I sit each day for at least an hour reading blogs/facebook. :)

  9. Yes, I am guilty too. We have 6 tv's in the house and have at least one of them on nearly all the time we are home. Of course, I am the queen of just LISTENING while I'm online, either reading blogs, posting on my blogs, or chatting with YOU. :o)

  10. We have 3. One in a guest bedroom, one in the den, and one in the gameroom. We watch maybe 2 hours of TV a day, so they are rarely on. I have noticed, however, that when we have guests, the TV in that room is on pretty much constantly. I find myself walking into an empty room to turn off the box.

Total pet peeve of mine - probably because I'd be the one watching the tube nonstop if I didn't force myself to do something else. Recovering TV addict that I am.
