52 Books in 2018: 1-9

I LOVE to read.
It's seriously my favorite thing to do.
And lucky for me, I'm a super fast reader so when
I take the time to stop and read, I can read a LOT.

The last week I've been under the weather and so I've spent lots of time
sitting with Poppy in my lap reading. (IE= heaven!)

My goal is to read 52 books this year and I was able to get 9 read last week.

Now a word of caution- I like to read lots of different types of books.
I love Christian fiction, Christian non-fiction, true crime, mysteries, and romance.
So my book choices are all over the place.

Here are books 1-9, a link to each one, and my rating from 1-5.

Interesting and suspenseful
Rating: 4

Good, solid mystery

I listed to this one on Audible and it was so good.
A very different type of topic but I loved it!

Super thriller, interesting plot
Rating: 4

A little too dark for me...I had to skip over a few parts.

  2. Wow, 9 books in 10 days! You are fast! I read 56 last year and so far this year, one. I need to go to the library ASAP. I'm going to check out a few of your recommendations, now. Thanks! I appreciate that you mentioned one was too dark for you. That makes me trust your recommendations more.

  4. Thanks for sharing about the books. I'd appreciate your rating them for the use of profanity. I've been told that books won't sell without it, but I remember when description was used to convey what profanity is used for now. I don't want to waste my time reading just for the sake of reading when the language is offensive to me and not part of my vocabulary. As believers we can be guilty of endorsing the world's standards in writing, tv, movies, etc., when we purchase this stuff, and all we get is more of it. "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.

    1. I believe Shannon does an amazing job with all that she offers for free to so many of her followers. I'm sorry that you feel the way you do, but most books have wordly ideas, imagery, and words in them. She fully disclosed that she reads many types of books and that they are not for everyone's liking. Perhaps you should stick to strictly Christian authors so that you are not offended by any of the books that she reviews.
