Living Intentionally in 2012

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beginning of a new year!
It's like a blank slate stretched out before me.
A brand new box of crayons, freshly sharpened.
New beginnings and a fresh start filled with so many possibilities!

Here are some of my goals for the coming year:

My verse{s} for this year are Philippians 3:12-16 {The Message}
I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back. So let's keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you'll see it yet! Now that we're on the right track, let's stay on it.

What about you?
What do you hope to do, achieve, become this coming year?
Do you have a verse to focus on this year?
If so, I'd love to hear it!

  1. "living intentionally" are the perfect words. and there's no better time to change living that way than the start of a new year.
    my verse is this ...
"therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17
when you're coming off a rough year, there's nothing better to think about than the new things to come.

  2. Living intentionally was how I summed up my goals for the year. Like the song that says "I don't just want to be going through the motions".

  4. Thank you for sharing this. I'm printing it for myself. I hope that is okay. I'm bookmarking this site to share with others.

My word for the year is "Declutter"
I am going to declutter my house and make it a home and a haven for my family.
I am going to declutter my body and honor God with it.
I am going to declutter my mind - out with the flesh and in with the Word.
I am going to declutter my soul - I carry burdens that aren't mine to carry and hold onto hurts that need to be released.
I am going to declutter my finances and make our money work for us.
I am going to declutter my time and eliminate some serious time wasters in my life.

It was nice stumbling onto your blog.

  5. I'm doing the "drink more water" thing this year. It just seems like so many benefits without any negatives, and SOOO cheap. Why do we have to make a resolution to do things that make sense? I don't know, but it is on my list, too, my friend!

Keep note of the books you read and maybe I will read them, too :)

My mission this year is to "Be Brave." There are too many things I have been too scared to get done. Its time to arm myself and go to battle (even though I am still a little, or a lot, scared.)

    I love you, Shannon.
