Let Them Eat PIE

I have to take some pies to an event on Sat. evening and can't for the life of me decide what to bake. I have a million (or two) recipes but just can't seem to decide on any of them.

So, will you help me out?

Other than traditional pumpkin and pecan- what are your favorite pies?

  3. For fall, nothing beats the smell of apple pie with fresh, delicious apples. (Ok, that chocolate fudge might beat it, but not the smell!) Ha!

  8. Hmmmm....probably apple right now. You could always do a caramel apple too. ;o)

This post made me miss my mom's mulberry-cherry pie. We had a mulberry tree in our backyard when I was growing up (along with a cherry tree). We always had tons of cherries, so sometimes, Mom would send us out with a sheet (specifically for this one purpose) to shake some mulberries out of the tree. Then she'd make her infamous mulberry-cherry pie. YUMMMMMMMMMMY! The mulberries don't have much flavor of their own, but they soften up the "tart" of the cherries and add just a little something special. And it's the best when it's warm...with some ice cream. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM :o)
