Matt Redman: Gracefully Broken CD {GIVEAWAY!}

Winner: Jennifer Talbot
{Please email me ASAP with your address so I can have the CD sent to you!
I must have it in this week!}

I've long been a fan of Matt Redman and y'all his new album Glory Song
(that releases on Friday, Sept. 29th) is absolutely beautiful and AMAZING!

One of the things I love about this album is that in it Matt unites
with 120 local worship leaders and songwriters on group vocals and special collaborations with fellow GRAMMY® winner Tasha Cobbs Leonard and Kierra Sheard
so it's full of different voices and types of songs.

I love that some of the songs on this album incorporate old hymns like the
song "One Day" that includes lyrics from "When We All Get to Heaven"
and has a bit of a gospel feel to it.

I love so many of the songs on this album that it's hard to pick a favorite
but if I had to choose, Gracefully Broken (featuring Tasha Cobbs) is my favorite.

It's beautiful and poignant and I've had it on repeat since I listened to the album.

Take all I have in these hands
And multiply, God, all that I am
And find my heart on the altar again
Set me on fire, set me on fire
Oh, take all I have in these hands
And multiply, God, all that I am
And find my heart on the altar again
Set me on fire, set me on fire
Here I am, God
Arms wide open
Pouring out my life
Gracefully broken
My heart stands in awe of Your name
Your mighty love stands strong to the end
You will fulfill Your purpose for me
You won't forsake me, You will be with me
Here I am, God
Arms wide open
Pouring out my life
Gracefully broken
Pouring out my life again
Here I am, God
Arms wide open
Pouring out my life
Gracefully broken
Oh, gracefully
All to Jesus now
All to Jesus now
Holding nothing back
Holding nothing back
I surrender
I surrender
I surrender
My second favorite would be Greatest Hallelujah.

  2. Perhaps not quite considered a hymn, The Love of God, especially the verse "could we with ink the ocean fill" always thrills me with the reminder that God's love is far greater than we can even begin to imagine. Thanks for sharing!

  8. I have so many both traditional and modern. My favorite would have to be Because He Lives. It has been one that was sang at my grandfather, grandmother, and mothers funerals. I cry every time I hear it but it gives me hope knowing because Jesus Lives I will see them again. Because He Lives I can go on.

But how can we forget hymns like "I Love to Tell the Story" and "Blessed Assurance." Tooo many great ones to name them all. Sing Praise to the King!

  27. Matt Redman is so annointed!! His 10,000 Reasons CD always leads me into a place of worship.

I have two favorite hymns---Day by Day and My Tribute. Not sure if they are always considered hymns, but each has been in a hymnbook at different churches I have attended.

  29. beautiful song! great meaning in Gracefully Broken. My favorite hymn: Onward Christian Soldiers. B/c of how much we battle in this world. God is on our side and battles for us!

  30. Lisa Harper .... My favorite hymn is Because HE Lives... I have an embroidrey artwork my sister in law made many years ago; it hung in my Mother's den. After she passed it was placed on the wall in my den. The simple message embroidered in red is Just Because. When I glance at this it instantly reminds me of my favorite hymn -Because HE Lives- The reassurance of death not being final.. it is merely a new beginning for us all who accepts HIS invitation to salvation. This hymn was profound even more after saying goodbye to my precious Mother who passed in 1998. She got to see my one and only child be born and see him till he turned 10 months old. I was 35 then.

  40. I absolutely LOVE hymns!! One of my favorites right now is Be Thou My Vision. We need to keep our eyes on Jesus, not all the things we do for Him or just keep Him in our back pocket when we need Him. He is our source & how glorious He is. Oh Lord, be our only vision, every hour of every day!!

  49. I love "I'll Fly Away." When I first heard that song, it hit me. I was in a charismatic church and my home church was the opposite. I loved that the song was the first time I heard it would be happy to go to heaven. Now I just love it! It's comforting when I think of others that have gone on and if my human side comes in and I'm fearful of death. Nothing will ever compare to seeing our Lord when we pass!
