My favorite tradition is playing "robber's bingo" at Mom and Dad's house.
We don't buy presents for adults on my side of the family anymore, mostly because none of us really need or want anything in particular. If we wanted it, we'd just buy it ourselves.
Anyway, I got off topic: We play robber's bingo after dinner and after the kids have opened all of their gifts.
Every adult brings a couple of gifts - some are nice things you would actually want and some are goofy things like a can of peas or a roll of toilet paper. Anyway, we take turns rolling dice and if you get snakeeyes, you get to pick a present from the pile. You can also steal presents from other players. When time is up, everyone opens their loot. We always have a good laugh when the gift everyone fought over ends up being something silly.
(Stacy described a game her family plays that is very similar to this one. It is such a hoot.)
Everyone goes home with a little prize or two and we all have a lot of laughs!
Attending church on Christmas Eve with my family.
ReplyDeleteThen cookie and candy making, carols playing, and so on.
Remembering why we celebrate the day.
