Monday Morning Question of the Day

As a mom I've signed my fair share of permission slips.
Permission slips to go to the zoo,
to go on a field trip, to go on a church trip.

I was thinking the other day,
how neat it would be to give MYSELF a permission slip.

Because I don't know about you,
but I am harder on myself than anyone ever could be,
and it would be nice to give myself a break every once in awhile.

So today....
What kind of permission slip
would you like to give yourself?

I'll start.

I'd like to give myself permission to say
when something is bothering me,
instead of keeping it all bottled up inside
and pretending everything is peachy,
when it's not.

What about you?

  1. I would give myself permission to love myself more. WAY too hard on myself in many areas. I would give myself permission to endulge myself in things that I think are selfish...massages, more pedicures, etc.

  2. I would give myself permission to not have to worry about anything. For just one day.

  3. I would give myself permission to say "no", or "I dont want to" or "I dont feel like doing that". I usually always overwhelm myself by doing virtually anything and everything people ask, to the detriment of myself. Sometimes I feely really selfish and just want it to be all about ME! (but I would never tell anyone that)

  5. Good post from Dory ... :) I hope you two get together again soon!

I would give permission to express myself without worrying that what I say will be insignificant and meaningless to others.

Now I feel like I need to send you some money for the therapy ...
