True Confession Saturday

The two weeks before school starts are always such a crazy time of year.

No matter how prepared I try to get ahead of time,
(and trust me, I DO try)
life seems to just go
crazy crazy crazy!

Since I started a new job a few weeks ago, this year has been exceptionally crazy! I love love love my new job but definitely feel like I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off most of the time.

Although I've been working very hard and very long days, I've definitely been a slacker on some things. They say confession is good for the soul, so........

Hello, my name is Shannon and I am a big old SLACKER.

  1. Thursday my lunch was a brownie. Dinner that night was a pretzel at the movies. (yea for carbs!)
  2. I have not been to the gym in two weeks. (this WILL change on Monday)
  3. My pants are feeling the effects of #1 and #2.
  4. I have 398 blogs to read on my bloglines page. I'm thinking of just clicking on all of them so that will go away because I don't see anytime in the near future that I will have time to do read that many blogs.
  5. I have not vacuumed or mopped the floors in my house in almost two weeks. I'm thinking I could make a mid sized dog with the hair that is in the corners around the house.
  6. With the exception of one day when I was simply too busy to make it happen, every day this week has been a 2 Sonic drink day. I'm thinking Diet Coke may be running in my veins at this point.
  7. My closet looks like an atom bomb went off inside it. Clothes everywhere, shoes all over the place, and bags, bags, and more bags!
  8. In the last two weeks alone I've sent 467 work emails.
  9. My shower is so in need of a serious cleaning that although the glass is clear, you would think by looking at it that it was indeed frosted. (why does anyone ever put clear glass on a shower anyway? seriously....who wants to see all that?)
  10. Although I have not found the time, energy, or inclination to go to the gym, read blogs, vacuum and mop, clean my closet, OR clean my shower, I have found the time and energy to play Rummikub almost every single night with my sweet family. Priorities people. Priorities.

Okay....misery loves company, so now it's your turn.

Please make me feel like I am not alone by telling me one of your confessions.

Surely I am not the only slacker around. Right?

  1. *I ate an entire movie theater size box of hot tamales yesterday by myself
*I chose FB over my Bible several times in the last week
*I stayed with a friend and chatted way longer than our planning meeting took instead of going back home to my children

  2. Shannon, I actually don't think you are a slacker at all. I'd say you've been living right! Well, except all the Diet Coke coursing through your veins...

How have I slacked off lately? I need to call, write, and visit a few specific people I love. I have good intentions but don't seem to get it done.

  3. I don't care what you say... you will NEVER be a slacker in my book.

Let's see if I can make a few confessions:
    1. I have three started but unfinished projects (chairs, window frame and painting a mirror) waiting patiently on me.
    2. I could make a BIG dog to eat your medium size dog with all the dog hair in the floors that haven't been swept this week.
    3. And the mother of all slacker confessions: let's not talk about my kitchen cabinets that have been doorless for.... ummm... er.... it pains me to say this.... FOUR stinkin years. Whew. I said it.

    I gotcha beat chica.

*i didn't get my house cleaned before we left for san antonio.
*i let that granny beat me on the elliptical twice this week.
*my list could go on. you, my friend, are far from being a slacker.

  6. Okay, true confession time:
~In December, I was given the materials & asked to make some old-fashoined muffs for the gift shop; the bag is sitting unopened behid the couch next to my dusty sewing machine
~I have a bowl full of sun-dried tomatoes...still on the plant!
~I have annual escheat reporting coming up (in 8 wks)& permission to take the overtime to get it done...& blew it off Saturday to attend a 1 hour workshop on raising backyard chickens (which will only happen if/when we finally get a bid accepted >:-( )
