PS When I just spell-checked this post and it said that TUMP was a misspelled word. How funny is that?
Are you kidding me???!!! Tump...like "don't tump it over." Or..."She tumped me outta the wheelbarrow." Or...."Did you tump that milk over in the icebox?"Sara Cutshall is sitting next to me. She thinks that the past participles of tump is temp, tamp, tump. I'm fixing to tump her out of her chair!!
Tump and knock are the same thing for me! Geeze! That was easy!
tump- like as in spill?
I know.. *sigh* people just aren't cultured enough, sometimes! I've used tump all my life.. LOLHope you all are having a ball..hugs,Jean
I've used the word 'tump' all my life as well but others have not. When I taught school, one of my students had accidently had his wheelchair tumped over. When I explained this to the diagnostician(let's just say that she wasn't from around here), she had no idea what I was talking about. I had to spell it out and give animated hand movements to explain the word. She told me that wasn't a real word. Well, actually it was in my dictionary so I think that makes it an official usable word. ; ) Even if you don't know the word tump, I think you should be able to figure it out with contextual clues and it just sounds exactly like what it means.
