DIY Paper Posies

DIY Day @ ASPTL

I was inspired by this post of Stephie's on paper flowers and knew that I had to make some myself.

I quickly searched the internet for a pattern, ended up using this one
(but there are tons out there so use any that you like)
and in less than 5 minutes, had made two!

They require only 5 simple things that you probably already have in your house and are super easy to make!

Here is all you need:

  • 1 sheet scrapbook paper
  • a flower pattern
  • scissors
  • a glue gun
  • buttons

Step 1- Trace and cut out two of each type of paper flower.

Step 2- Make a small fold in the center of each flower in order to make them have a more 3D effect. Turn the flower a quarter of a turn and make another fold.

Step 3- Pick out a large button to match each paper.

Step 4- Put a dot of hot glue in the center of one flower then press the second on top- shifting it just enough so that the petals are not directly on top of each other.

Step 5- Gently pull on the top layer of petals to separate them from
the bottom layer and give them a little volume.

The ideas for these cuties are endless!
I made a few to go on my shutter fireplace screen
 along with some old pics.
I also made a few to go on my inspiration board above my craft table
and I plan to use them for a baby shower I'm helping with soon.
What a cute, inexpensive, and easy decoration!
