Flashback Friday

This picture is another one of my sister and me that cracks me up!
(Wonder how many pictures we took on that porch?)
We are standing on our front porch during the short time
that our house was painted this color-
because my mother let the two of us choose what color it should be.
And man, it was BRIGHT.  Seriously bright.

Based on the date, we are three and six years old.
It looks like I have an evil grin on my face-
like I've done something sneaky or wrong.

And my sister looks like she is telling on me, saying
"Mom, she....".

But of course I'm sure that's not what happened.
Because I never once did anything mean to her. :)

I Wish.....

-that people would think about others more than themselves
-that losing weight was as easy as gaining it (wouldn't that be cool?)
-that Dory lived next door (or even down the street)
-that people were less judgmental
-that Madison was home (she's at her Dad's and Granny's and I miss her)
-that I could be less selfish and more selfless
-that cookies had no calories
-that people would try to be the friend they want to have
-that I had about 12 more hours in each day so I could do everything I want to do for others
-that people would follow rules!!!
-that I could do more to comfort those I love who are struggling and hurting
-that I had enough time and energy and money to do all the projects I would like to do
-that I could talk to my mom one more time
-that I could go to Hawaii tomorrow
-that my dogs did not shed

And you?
What do you wish today?

Monday Morning Question of the Day

How many US states have you visited?

If you could choose the next one to visit, which would you choose and why?

I've only been to 14 different states
and if I could choose one to visit right now it would be New York
or I'd wait till the fall and go to Maine.

What about you?

Flashback Friday

I LOVE this picture of my sweet mother.

I am guessing she was around 7 in this picture but there is
no date on it so I can't be sure.

Until I found this picture I didn't know she even ever took dance.

Her cute little tutu is so sweet and I love the big bow in her hair.
She was adorable!

Monday Morning Question of the Day

If you could pick just one household chore
(laundry, cleaning bathrooms, mopping, sweeping, etc)
that you never had to do again,
what would it be?

Flashback Friday

I'm wondering as I look at this picture of my sister and I,
exactly how many Olan Mills photos we took over the years?

In this lovely photo, I was in either 7th or 8th grade
which means my sister was in either 10th or 11th grade.

We both had some majorly feathered hair and
I'm willing to bet we had used enough hairspray on our hair to
make a new hole in the ozone layer.

My plaid wool skirt and button down pink shirt
is missing only the polo sweater that
I usually wore draped around my shoulders.
With the polo logo facing outward of course-
so it could be seen by all.

Thursday 13

13 Things I've Done This Week While Visiting Dory

1. Went antique shopping and bought some fun new treasures

2. Sanded doors

3. Painted- with a roller, with a brush, & with spray paint

4. Attached hinges & door handles & doors

5. Bought $5 worth of mustaches and took pictures of us wearing them
in the bathroom of Mr. Lucky's clinic.

6. Painted some more

7. Gone to Sonic once a day
(or sweet Mr. Lucky has gone for me while we worked)

8. Went shopping in paint covered clothes and without makeup
EEEK!!!!

9. Painted some more

10. Taken pictures- mostly with this super fun ShakeIt app.

11. Laughed so hard my tummy hurt and I almost peed in my pants.
Seriously.
(or maybe I did)

12. And painted some more

13.  Wished Dory and I lived closer and dreaded leaving Sat. morning.
It seriously stinks that we live so stinkin' far apart and makes me sad.
So very sad.
