Memory Verse: Week 18

I believe that Satan doesn’t want us in God’s word and will use any and every means possible to keep us from the truth and therefore we must be prepared and have a PLAN!

To work on hiding God's word in our hearts,
this year I'm going to be posting a memory verse for each week
along with a printable to print out and hang up.

Here's the verse for week 18:

May Scripture Writing Plan: HOPE

Happy almost May friends!

The scripture writing plan this month is on the topic of HOPE.

With all of the death, brutality, conflict, hate, and war surrounding us,
it's easy to feel hopeless about this broken, chaotic world we live in.
Thankfully, those of us who have chosen to know and follow Jesus have HOPE.
Hope only found in Him.
His life, death and resurrection changed EVERYTHING.
In this dark and broken world we must find hope,
gain hope and maintain our hope in Christ and in Christ ALONE.

Hope is faith in the future tense. So the majority of faith is hope.

Hope is found in the promises God has given us – promises of freedom from sin.
We can find so much hope in Scripture through the gift of eternal life
made possible through His son, Jesus Christ.
No matter what trials, temptations or pain we may suffer,
we can always hold onto the hope God extends to us.

Let's spend this month NOT looking at our circumstances that confront us,
but instead reading and meditating on God's promises and what He has to say about hope.

FYI: I made the plan 31 days and plan to do that with
all topical plans in the future so that they can be done any month-
not just the month I write them for.

You can find a copy of the plan in English and Spanish in the folder HERE.
{Just a reminder, don't try to print the images below or they will be blurry. Be sure to click the link to download a PDF copy!}

And if you are looking for the old plan for May over Anxiety, you can find it HERE

or the old May plan over Friendship, you can find it HERE

God is Sovereign

"Sometimes we must grieve a different ending.
A different ending doesn’t mean God has changed his mind about you.
God is sovereign, even in our disappointment.

Life doesn’t always pan out the way we hope or envision.
It’s okay to grieve an unexpected ending to a season,
a situation, a day, a moment that didn’t end in the way we hope or plan."
-Shelly Miller, The Sabbath Society

YOU are...

YOU are PRECIOUS.
YOU are IMPORTANT.
YOU are FORGIVEN (Seriously- no matter what you've done).
YOU are REDEEMED.
YOU are VALUABLE.
YOU are LOVED (greatly).
Isaiah 43:2-4, The Message says....
“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you. I’ve called your name. You’re mine. When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end- Because I am God, your personal God, The Holy of Israel, your Savior. I paid a huge price for you....That’s how much you mean to me! That’s how much I love you! I’d sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you."

The One Who Calls You

Such a FABULOUS reminder in my devotion this morning that if
God calls me to something, there is NO reason to fear because....

"The one who calls you created the world and holds it together by his will. He has power over all things spiritual and physical. He rules every situation, location, and relationship in which his call is to be followed. He is amazing in his wisdom, abundant in his race, and boundless in his love. He is saving, forgiving, transforming, and delivering. What he says is always best and what he requires is always good. When he calls, he goes with you. What he calls you to do, he empowers by his grace. When he guides, he protects. He stands with power and faithfulness behind every one of his promises. He has never failed to deliver anything that he has promised. There is simply no risk in answering the call of the King of Kings...Only grace can work to remind us that faith in God is a resting place and trust in self is a minefield. It is grace and grace alone that empowers us to follow and to rest."

Here's the verse for week 14:

This verse is one of my absolute favorite verses because it is short,
sweet and to the point- with no question about what it means.
It is the perfect guide for our daily Christian life.

This is THE goal of our Christian life.
To live in such a way that God is glorified and we are not.
To show God, not yourself, to everyone.
To show others how God is great and not how you are great.

The focus in the world today is on self
but our goal as Christians is to focus on Him
and this verse is the perfect reminder of that!

I also created some verse cards that you can print out
and punch a hole in to carry round with you.
