Lent Scripture Writing Plan

Several blog readers asked if I'd do a plan specific for Lent this year
and I was more than happy to do so!
This plan should start tomorrow and last for 40 days.

You can find a copy of the plan in the folder HERE
in both English and Spanish as well as plain versions of each type.

For those that have asked, there is also a blank form
to write your verses on that can be found HERE

Live Like You're Loved

I don't know about you but there are times that although I know
in my head & heart that I'm loved by God, I don't feel loved.
That I fail more often than I succeed.
That I am not enough.
Not kind enough, giving enough, forgiving enough. Enough.
That I don't do enough for Him.
That I simply fail to measure up.

I came across this video late last week and it so spoke to me!
I absolutely love the message behind this song & it's such a beautiful reminder
that His love for me isn't based on how good I am (thank goodness!)
but on how good HE is.

March Scripture Writing Plan: Grace

Happy almost March!
Gosh that was quick- where did Feb. go?

The new topical plan for this month is over the topic of Grace.
I made the plan 31 days and plan to do that with
all topical plans in the future so that they can be done any month-
not just the month I write them for.

Alone

I recently came across a post by Lysa Terkurst on Facebook that so struck me.

How true is that?
When we are struggling most of us tend to turn inward and away from those
around us who can help us through those struggles- especially God-
that's exactly what Satan wants.

Want to be a RAOK Ninja?

Back in 2013 when I started going to MD Anderson
I created some little notes to post in bathrooms.
I originally created them before my surgery because
I prepared a little list of RAOK for Madison
and her sweet friends who spent my surgery day with her to do.
I loved thinking of them performing acts of kindness at MD Anderson
instead of just sitting and worrying about me.

Ever since then I've kept some of the signs in my purse along with some washi tape
and I put them up each time I visit MDA for follow up visits
and again this year when diagnosed with Melanoma and becoming a patient once again.
I always visit every bathroom I pass on the way to my appointments
and honestly I feel like a little RAOK ninja!

Scripture Prayer Cards

{Be sure to read to the bottom for an ETSY coupon code worth 20%}

I'm a HUGE  believer in the power of prayer.
I think many people WANT to pray but
sometimes we all struggle though with not that we should pray,
but WHAT specifically we should pray.

So a few years ago I made some prayer cards.
I made one set of things that I wanted to daily pray
my daughter and another set of things
I wanted to pray specifically for my husband.

Find You Here

I find such comfort and solace in music.
When my soul is weary and tired and worn and worried about those I love
- music centers me and reminds me of God's goodness and love.

The song Find You Here by Ellie Holcomb is one of my current favorites.

It's a beautiful song that is such a great reminder that God
is near to us when we are in the midst of darkness.
That He will carry us through the pain and struggle.
That He holds us in His mighty hands.

Sometimes Things ARE Crappy

I am an optimist and believe that a positive attitude is a choice and makes a huge difference.
Our lives are full of blessings- we just have to look and acknowledge them.
I try to speak kindly and positively to those around me
and think that most of the time I am successful.

But sometimes y'all, things are just crappy.
Like seriously crappy.
Crappy crappy.

A marriage that falls apart and a spouse leaves?  Crappy.
A cancer diagnosis? Crappy.
The loss of a job or home? Crappy.
A relationship broken beyond repair? Crappy.
Someone you love with an addiction they don't see and won't get help for? Crappy.
The death of someone you love? Crappy.

God did not say that we would be without trouble in this world- in fact he said the opposite.
In John 16:33 he says....
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble.

The Garden by Kari Jobe {with a Giveaway!}

I'm a firm believer that God is a God of details and that there are no coincidences.
And so that fact that the incredible, beautiful new CD by Kari Jobe,
The Garden, arrived in my mailbox the night before
I traveled to MD Anderson for my pre-op appointments for Melanoma surgery
was like a sweet little gift from our Lord.

This CD is beautiful and was truly a balm to my weary soul
on that 2 hour drive to MD Anderson
{which is THE most amazing hospital in the world!}.
