Monday Morning Question of the Day

My favorite Bible verse of all times-
the one I consider my life verse
 is Jeremiah 29:11 which says.......

For I know the plans I have for you,
declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.

What is your favorite verse?

Flashback Friday

This has to be one of my all time favorite pictures of my precious mother.
I love how happy she looked and although I can
only guess as to the year it was taken
(I'm guessing around 1972 or 1973 based on her hair)
I love thinking of what might have made her so excited.

I love and miss her every single day of my life
and am thankful that since I can't see her smile in person,
I have pictures like this to remind me of how beautiful she was!

Monday Morning Question of the Day

What food combination do you absolutely LOVE
but others find disgusting?

For me the answer has to be:
My mom's cornbread with Miracle Whip on it.

My grandmother ate it that way.
My mom ate it that way.
I eat it that way.
And everyone else thinks it is so strange.
But don't knock it till you try it.
It is YUMMY!

Flashback Friday

This picture was taken one of the two times
I can remember it actually snowing in Houston, Texas.

Obviously we were THRILLED since this was
the very first time we ever saw snow.
You can tell by our lack of true winter clothes
that this was truly abnormal weather.

If I was a betting girl, I would bet that my sweet sister
threw that snowball she was holding,
not long after this picture was snapped.

Since it's been over 100 degrees every day
for several weeks in a row here,
I'd pay money to see some of that cold weather!

Monday Morning Question of the Day

Would you rather have to take a vow of silence for a year
or
have to go barefoot for a year?

Flashback Friday

This picture of Madison on her first day of preschool when
she was four makes me smile.

Could she be any cuter with that big old bow on her head?
Could her smile be any larger?
I think not.

But when I think that in a little over a week that cute little
bow-headed girl will be starting high school?

Oh my.
It makes me want to cry.

Big, ugly, snot-running-down-my-face, can't-catch-my-breath, tears.
How did she grow up so quickly?

Monday Morning Question of the Day

Summer is winding down and school is starting soon.

As we wave goodbye to summer, tell me.....
what was your favorite memory from this summer?

Flashback Friday

This sweet picture was taken at my dad's house
in the country when Madison was 3.

From the left side it's me, my mom, and little Maddie.
There was no bathtub and so my mom gave her a bath in the sink
and you can tell by her face, she LOVED it!
She thought it was so fun and such a treat that she laughed
and giggled like crazy the whole time.

What fun memories this picture brings back!

Want to Buy a T-Shirt?

In January my sweet friend Dory and I are going on a trip together.

But not just any trip, on a mission trip to Guatemala.

Specifically to work in orphanages in Guatemala.
To hold babies in those orphanages.

A trip that will no doubt be
amazing
eye-opening
gut-wrenching
exhausting
heart breaking
and one that will undoubtedly change us both forever.

To help raise the money for our trips we are selling t-shirts.

Cute black t-shirts (both v-neck and regular) with this saying on them:

If you'd like to buy one (or more :),

and I'll be happy to email you one!

Monday Morning Question of the Day

I'm a girl who likes sayings.
I catch on to a few and use them all the stinkin' time.

But there are some sayings that drive me batty because they are either

a. weird
b. overused
c. incorrectly used
d. all of the above

So what about you?
What is your least favorite saying?
